Saint Saviour is the project of London-based singer-songwriter and musician Rebecca ‘Becky’ Jones. Six years after In The Seams and a couple of collaboration with Damon Gough aka Badly Drawn Boy and Willy Mason, she’s back with a new track titled “Wake Me“. It is built around a plucked harp and auto-tuned vocals which are gradually embellished by bass clarinet, guitar and bodhrán.
She explains: “Wake Me was written in Hastings, looking out at the sea and the horizon. I’d escaped London and my 18 month old for a week to get some headspace for a new album in peace. I think it’s possibly the most personal song I’ve written. It’s about struggling to express what you want to say in words, feeling locked inside yourself, something I’ve dealt with for as long as I can remember.”
