James Nathan Jones is a Laurel-based pianist and composer that we introduced different times. One year after Static Deviations, he recently released a new full-length. Signals is out now and according to the press release, it is a collection of various ambient/electronic improvisations using analog modular synths, tape loops, and various other sonic experiments throughout last year.

The previously unreleased tracks from “Signals” have been used by the popular YouTube exploration channel, The Proper People, and they have graciously contributed the artwork and video footage to accompany the album. Many of the tracks were directly inspired by abandoned locations that The Proper People explore, and the entire album is meant to reflect the power, scale, and beautiful decay that the imagery evokes.
