Five years after Rituals, American band Other Lives (Jesse Tabish, Jonathon Mooney, Josh Onstott) announced the release of a new album. For Their Love is out on April 24th via Play It Again Sam. It features drummer Danny Reisch and Kim Tabish. We already shared “Lost Day”; “Hey Hey I” is a new excerpt. The official video was shot in the A-frame house studio in the Oregon mountains where the band recorded the album.
Frontman Jesse Tabish explains; “The video is a reflection of the recording process of the album, that took place in the A-frame in the woods,” before adding; “we wanted to portray this process in a natural, organic way, without telling a story but rather showing glimpses of us working together as well as coming together with friends.”
He adds: “The album is a record reflecting human feeling in the current state of affairs. Economy and politics on the individual, whilst the latter still has to deal with the basic struggles of finding meaning of their existence. Money, love, and death are always real and hard to cope with; what does the individual chose to make these larger themes of life easier to deal with. The record speaks in realness, questions, observing, lamenting and hopefully finding the slightest of hope in themselves; these characters sometimes venturing out into spiritual, religious or institutionalized endeavors. In my personal hope, only finding their self-worth being more important than anything than what has been taught or preached to them”
