One year after Universal Care, Boston-based band Kal Marks (Alex Audette, Michael Geacone, Carl Shane) released a new EP. The Shit House Burn Down is out now via Exploding In Sound. It was mastered by James Plotkin. They shared a new video for the track “Kimmy“.
Regarding the track, the band had this to say: “Kimmy is a nonsense song. I think I may be building a reputation for writing emotional, deep, dark songs, so just wanted to do something absurd and without meaning. Not every song has to be philosophical pondering on life, because honestly a lot of times there is no rhyme or reason to our time here. The song is ridiculous musically too. Caveman rhythms, quick twists and turns, and really no standard structure. Some of lyrics I can’t even remember. They could just be gibberish. Its named after a friend that is absurd and unfiltered, so that was the inspiration. It’s a fun exercise to give in to the meaningless.”
