Alien Thing are a Chicago three-piece band wich released debut EP Yum I in 2018. It includes Eric Pee (bass, vocals), Vlad (drums) and Keenan Shea Benshop (guitar). They announced the release of the sophomore EP Yum II which is out today. We have the pleasure to premiere “How To Build An Earthworm Farm” which shows the deep and scratchy vocals, the rough and dilated sound at the beginning and the powerful acceleration in the final part.

Their words about the project and the single: “We cut it this fall and winter with Doug Malone, who’s engineered locals like No Men and Ne-Hi. We ourselves are active in the Chicago scene, hosting shows at a southside house venue.

Our sound is a danceable late 90’s punk, peppered in midwest depression. Some references are Shellac, Tom Waits, Fugazi, and Primus. The single, “How to Build an Earthworm Farm”, is loud and impassioned. Lyrically, it’s half psycho-narration, half diss-track aimed at the prison-industrial-complex and it’s impact on U.S. youth.
