Manchester’s avant-electronic producer Denis Jones has announced the release of a new album. 3333 is out on March 30th. It follows 2010’s Red+Yellow=. He shared studio space with Manchester legends Graham Massey (808 State) and Mr. Scruff, who both helped on the album.
Looking into mythology, religious text, non-fiction and science fiction books for lyrical inspiration; the scene was set to write a modern dystopian soundtrack with all tracks intended to be 3 minutes and 33 second long songs. We have the pleasure to premiere the title track “3333“.
His words about it: “3333 i was conceived at a point when I had thought I had completed the album. All tracks were decided and mixed. It was an exercise in combining different production styles that are close to my heart, mainly for some relief from the mixing process. I tried to conjure the imagined sound of Lee Scratch Perry, recording Captain Beefheart in the concrete basement studio in Pan Sonic’s house. The result was 3333”
